WARNING: I think this book is crap. I was immature and in the midst of a personal crisis/breakdown when I published; I also feel that my style and craft was yet undeveloped. I am in the process of fully revising and re-releasing ... but this only happens after my current book - My Life Your Story - is published. This is a real life adventure, written by a young man who is at the very beginning of his quest for freedom. It's a story on two levels - that which can be seen and that which cannot; that which is written and that which is going on behind the words. It's a story of questions more than answers and many questions are newly formed and not fully developed.
It's a human story, so expect mistakes.
It's also an African story, so expect adventure, drama, action, betrayal,corruption, tragedy, chaos, comedy and a whole lot more.

My mid-life crisis came early; I was only 23 when I began pondering the purpose of my life. Desperately unhappy with where I was, and the future that I could see for myself, I made a crazy decision to sacrifice everything and follow my heart.

It took three years for my heart to speak, but when it did, the call was clear. I dropped out of university, said goodbye to friends and family, stuffed my life into a 25-litre backpack, and set off into the unknown.

What followed was a five year African adventure that carried me to places, and through experiences, that I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams.

Philen Naidu is a spiritual adventure novelist, freelance reporter and humanitarian.
